PETER RAE
Peter comes from Biggar
in Lanarkshire and in his retirement works part time in Peebles at the
Visit Scotland Tourist Information Office. When he's not telling people
about the joys of the Scottish Border country and where to find the
best B&B he's writing song lyrics, doing recordings or taking photographs.
These three hobbies
keep him well occupied.
Here you'll find examples
of his songs most of which were recorded here at Bryansroom. Peter and
Derek Hamilton have collaborated on a number of these.
You can also find examples
of his recordings mainly done at accordion clubs such as Biggar and
Newtongrange.
Thanks to Peter and
his recording gear we have memories of some of the greats of the Scottish
Dance Band scene, an album being made of Alex MacArthur (the General)
after his untimely passing. Peter has also done some crackers of the
late great Jim Johnstone.
Away from the Scottish
scene Peter managed to get Kylie Minogue interested in one of his songs.
